Edit Viljamaa (they/them, b.2000) is a Helsinki-based sound designer, singer-songwriter and photographer. Edit has graduated as a Bachelor of Theatre arts in sound design programme from the University of the Arts Helsinki and are now in their master studies. Edit is currently particularly interested in the therapeutic effects of sound and the human voice in general. They often uses the human voice in their works and enjoys exploring its different dimensions. Edit makes their own music and composes, writes lyrics and produces it themselves.
Edit's goal in art is to create experiences that take the experiencer deep into the world of the artwork and into their own mind, raising questions, emotions and insights. Edit believes that the most important values in the working group are openness, creativity, equality, kindness and unity. Edit is used to work both in Finnish or in English and dreams of working all around the world in different environments and projects. Edit has been doing photography for 7 years now and they especially loves shooting on film.
